Chemical Control of Pod borer  in Pigeonpea

  • Profenophos 50 EC @ 1 ml/l or thiodicarb 75 WP or methomyl 40 SP @ 0.6 g/l water @ 25-50 % flowering.
  •   NSKE 5 %, Commercial formulations 1500 ppm @ 2ml/l.
  •  Alternate to NSKE, GCK can be used,

                    Garlic (2 kg) + Chilli (1 kg) + Kerosene (250 ml) as insecticide and little ovisidal property.

Application of ovicides

  •  Methomyl 40 SP @ 0.6 gm/litre  OR
  • Thiodicarb 70 WP @ 0.6 gm/l   OR
  •   Profenophos @ 1.5 ml/l

Second spray: Botanicals/biopesticides

  •  Application of NSKE 5%
  • Application of Ha NPV 250LE/ha

Application of Insecticides

  •  Indoxacarb 0.12 ml/l   OR
  • Spinosad 0.3 ml/l   OR
  • Quinalphos 25 EC @ 2 ml/l  OR
  • Chloropyriphos 20 EC @ 2.5 ml/l OR
  • Acephate 75 WP @ 1 g/l     OR
  • Novaluran 10 EC @ 0.75 ml/l  OR
  • Rynaxypyr 20 % SC @ 0.1 ml/l or 15 g a.i/ha

  #   Pundi oil or Sesamum oil mixed in the ratio of 1:1 to increase activity of the insecticide(Synergistic effect).

   # If necessary, spray with alphamethrin 10 EC @ 0.5 ml / l or cypermethrin 5 EC @ 0.5 / l.
