Cultural control of Bacterial blight in Paddy

• Resistant varieties → IR 20, IR 22, IR-8,  TKM – 6, Lead rice from Burma 
• Do not grow nursery under shade.
•  Application of balanced fertilizers and avoid excess N fertilizers (80 to 100 Kg/ha). Skip top dressing of N fertilizer during booting stage if the disease is moderate.
•  Draining of the field may be done when the crop is not in flowering stage.
•  Destruction of wild collateral hosts.
•   Avoid flow of irrigation water from affected field to the adjacent rice field.
•  Growing of rice in the area of Hay Stacks (Bhusa Stacks) should be avoided.
