- Use of Gnidea glauca, a plant whose leaf extract at 5% in water controls rice insect problem such as rice leaf folder
- Use of plant products such as soapnut and neem oil in the form of a mixture in 5% aqueous solution and used against Arecnut rootgrubs.
- Introduction of new Honey bee strain into the Western Ghat. A red strain of Apis cerana indica has been areas of introduced into Hilly areas of Western Ghats in Sirsi and surrounding areas.
