Grain legume has to be part of cropping system for maintaining the soil fertility in the long run. Grain legume fix atmospheric nitrogen and subsequent crop can use it. Besides this legume roots feed from different layers os root zone so over mining of nutrient from same layer of root zone is avoided. Thus grain legume improves soil fertility. It is rich in protein so it meet the nutritional requirement of vegetarion people.

Government should encourage farmers to limit the import enough that the remunerative prices are paid to the produce of the farmers.
