Description
- Hirankhuri is perennial herb that belongs to convolvulaceae family.
- It has weak stem that's why it twines around wheat plant.
- It has very deep root system (up to 2.5 m), which are responsible for its survival under dryland conditions.
- Its leaves are simple, alternate and petiolate. Leaves are arrow shaped with pointed lobes at the base.
- Flowers are produced singly or in cluster of 2 to 3 which are of pink colour with white streaked petals.
- It propagates by both means sexual and asexual. Its seed viability is up to 50 years.

Control measure
- Intensive cultivation reduce the newly emerged hirankhuri seedlings.
- Post emergence application of 2, 4-D at the rate of 0.75kg/ha, Carfentrazone at the rate of 20 g/ha in 250-300 litres of water at the time of 30-35 days after sowing.
