In the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, 100% of recommended N:K2O (2:20 kg/ha) and 20% recommended P2O5 (8 kg/ha) could be saved in mungbean/soybean-safflower cropping systems wiht integrated nutrient management involving application of 3.0 t/ha safflower residues alongwith 2.5 t/ha glyricidia loppings to kharif legumes. This practice besides reducing the fertilzier cost by Rs500/ha has improved the soil biological activity.

In the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, 100% recommended K2O (40 kg/ha); 40% recommended N (48 kg/ha) and 35% recommended P2O5 (17.5 kg/ha) could be saved in maize-safflower cropping system with integrated nutrient management involving the application of 6.0 t/ha of safflower residues alongwith 2.5 t/ha glyricidia loppings to maize. This practice besides reducing the fertilizer cost by Rs 1200/ha has improved the soil biological activity.
