- At 70-90 days, nipping of top portion of the plant should be carried out in order to minimize egg laying by the adults.
- Mechanical removal of the caterpillars by hand picking is recommended for larvae beyond third instar, since these are difficult to be killed with insecticides.
- Mechanical removal of the larvae and adults from the trap crop.
- Destroy the crop stake after final picking.
