Mechanical Control of Red Cotton Bug

• Uproot and destroy the alternate wild hosts Hibiscus asper, H. cannabinus and H. trionus.
• Hand pick the bugs during early stages and destroy so as to reduce the insect population.
• Dislodge the bugs in kerosene mixed water by passing rope, over the crop.
• Pick up cotton bolls as and when they open.
