Paddy Root Weevil (Echinocnemus oryzae Marshall)

Posted in

Damage is caused by grubs which feed on rootlets of paddy plants. The infested crop remains stunted and a large number of plants are killed. The crop transplanted in July is more heavily attacked than the one transplanted in August.

Management: Apply 10 kg of Phorate 10G or 20 kg of Lindane 6G/ha in standing water.
