Alternative uses of sugarcane

Dear Kanchan,

I feel the caption should have been "Alternative uses of Sugarcane" as post harvest management would include practices to be followed to:

  1.  Prevent fall in sugar content after harvesting.
  2.  Management practices for better ratoon crop.

You have covered most of these practices in the section under harvesting.

Sugarcane bagasse is also a very good ingredient for preparing compost for Mushroom cultivation.

Regards,

Sanjay
