Wheat is cultivated in the region where annual precipitation occurs from 25 to 175 cm, though 75% wheat area falls where annual rainfall precipitation occurs between 37.5 to 87.5 cm. Region with 62.54 to 87 cm rainfall are most suitable for wheat cultivation and out of this 10-15 cm rainfall is required when crop is in the field. Rainfall and snowfall at the time of maturity cause severe loss to wheat crop affecting yield and seed quality adversely.
