Seed treatment of Gram

Seed treatment of Gram (Bengal Gram)

Many fungi grow inside the pod and deposit their spores for transmission of the disease in next year crop. Other fungi grow on the plant and perpetuate year after year on the debris of the plants. Therefore, to reduce the damage by such spores, seed is treated with Thiram at the rate of 3 gram/kilogram seed  before sowing. This is done by seed-dressing drum or simple pitcher.
