1.Application of nitrogen fertilizer at optimum dose. The dose may be determined by soil test. In absence of soil testing. 40 - 150 kg N/ha may be applied. 2. Three or four consecutive foliar sprays with 1% urea solution at an interval of 10 days. 3. Six foliar sprays with 2% urea solution at an interval of 7 days starting from 20 days after sowing (TN) |

Phosphorus deficiency |
1.Plants are stunted 2. Leaves are dark green |
1. Application of phosphorus fertilizer at optimum dose. The dose may be determined by soil test. in absence of soil testing. 8-75 kg P2O5/ha may be applied. |

Potassium deficiency |
1.Number of leaves are low 2.Leaf margins are brown yellow, brown or scorched 3.Abscission of scorched leaves |
a) Application of potassium fertilizer at optimum dose. The dose may be determined by soil test. In absence of soil testing, 20 - 75 kg potash /ha may be applied. |
