Egg: yellowish, shiny and laid singly on all plant parts Larva: 40 mm long and hairy and varied in col
Adult: The adult measures about 30-36 mm in its wing expanse and 14 to 18 mm in its body length. The forewings are marked with greyish wavy lines and black spots of varying size on upper side and a black kidney shaped mark and a round spot on the upper side. The hind wings are whitish and lighter in colour.
Damaging systems:
- At initial stage feeds on green leaves later it feeds on flower bud and pods.
- The matured larvae half body inside the fruit half out side this peculiar characteristics.
- Due to feeding on flower buds and flower lead to reduces in fruit setting.
- About 40 to 50% loss
