Root System

• Rice seed gives out seminal roots out of the radical which are temporary in nature. (Primary roots) while the functional roots are secondary adventitious roots produced from the lower nodes of the culm.
• Rice has fibrous root system which confines mainly in top 20 cm of soil in transplanted rice while deeper roots are found in direct seeded rice.
